So today I'm actually doing something different and starting to interview other bloggers and creative influencers for my blog! This will be something that will be done monthly, just to give an opportunity to those who are scared to step out of their comfort zone to do something creative, and to get advice from other more experienced influencers! :))

Founder of ""

I have the pleasure of interviewing this beautiful lady who I recently just found on Instagram who also happens to be living in Vancouver with me wow. She is honestly so beautiful, down to earth, and talented in so many ways!! I hope you are inspired as much as I am by what she has to say and share with the rest of the world :)

What inspired your confidence as a creative?

My confidence comes from endless iteration and prototyping. Practice, testing, failing, and doing it all over again… for a very long time. It’s all about the process for me. Being a designer / entrepreneur is all about solving problems, and it’s rare that you’ll get it right the first time. Although creativity has always come natural to me (ever since I was very young), it really is all about practice. Experiencing growth, seeing how far I’ve come, and pushing my boundaries has always a confidence building block for me.

Did you ever feel like nothing was going forward? How did you overcome that?

There have been times where I’ve felt like I’ve been stuck before, but that doesn’t mean that I am.

The best way to overcome feeling discouraged, or feeling negative in any sort of way is to know exactly who you are, and know exactly what you’re capable of. Truthfully, all the answers that you’re looking for are already within you. When you understand who you are, and that you have full control over your success, your destiny, and your reality, nothing will stop you.

Who are your biggest inspirations?

My parents are my biggest inspirations. My mom and dad have sacrificed and given me everything. They are the reason I am who I am, and why I do what I do. I want to give them back every single thing they’ve done for me.

Who has impacted you most in your creative process and how?

My family has the most impact on my creative process. Growing up, my mom always encouraged me to create my magazines out of gel pens and original sketches. My dad was the first person to teach me how to draw, and fall in love with books. I always drew my little brother as a baby when he was born. My family is my everything. There hasn’t been a single moment they haven’t been supportive.

How did you find and reach out to other influencers?

Instagram DMs is where it goes down! Haha, seriously though, I’ve connected to such incredible influencers / photographers / musicians / business owners / designers / creatives through Instagram DMs. Reaching out first will always get you more results than waiting around for people to message you first. I always take initiative, and I always offer value first. If not through Instagram, then through fashion shows, meetups, or events!

How did you build your audience or people to read and support your blog / company?

We attract the right audience and people by having a very strong mission statement. Whether it’s my personal brand or Truth Media, the first step is always knowing your purpose, your message, which mediums to articulate it, and how to do it with great consistency. Branding, identity, and storytelling done the right way will always bring forward the right community. Truth Media’s message is fairly simple: We encourage and empower you to live your truth.

Have you ever dealt with negative criticism? How did you deal with it and move forward?

The majority of the negative criticism I’ve had was when I was growing up. It was so common to hear scepticism on pursuing arts as a career. It’s funny now, because the same people would never say those things to me today. That’s what happens when you know who are, and exactly what you’re meant to do. You just become successful when you do what you love.

I ignored all of that criticism, and I studied design anyways. People’s opinions should never stop you. The only person that will give you everything that you’ve ever wanted is you. You owe it to yourself to live the life you want. Everybody else who doesn’t believe in you is just noise.

What is the greatest advice you have ever received and what is your advice to new and upcoming bloggers or creatives out there?

The greatest advice I’ve ever received was from my mom: be the best version of yourself every single day. Don’t expect anybody else to think / be / act like you, because nobody does. Short and sweet. It’s a mantra I keep everyday.

My advice to new and upcoming bloggers / creatives is to first of all, know your message, and what makes your art stand out. Don’t let fear or hesitation stop you. Put yourself out there as much as you can. The hardest part is starting, but once you do, it’s just a matter of time! Take big risks, and ask many questions. Reach out to the people who have done exactly what you want to do, and learn from them. You can turn this into a career. Think without limits, and think big!
